Hi, I'm Amy
And I'm the person behind Thistle Nerine Communications.
Small businesses, creative projects and community organisations often have great ideas and strong values, but very little time to think about communications. I wanted to create something that gives these organisations access to experienced communications in a flexible and straightforward way.

I decided to start Thistle Nerine so I could work more directly with the kinds of organisations I care most about.
Thistle Nerine also reflects something personal to me. The name comes from the national flowers of Scotland and Guernsey. I am Scottish and my husband is from Guernsey, so it felt like a lovely way to reflect both places.
Most importantly, I genuinely love this work. I enjoy helping people untangle ideas, find the right words and feel confident about sharing what they do with the world.
My Story
I've worked in communications, public affairs and PR since 2019, supporting organisations to explain complex issues clearly and connect with the people who matter to them. Much of my professional experience has been in the renewable energy sector, where communications often sit at the intersection of policy, communities and technical information.
This work taught me how important clear, honest communication really is. When people understand what is happening and why it matters, conversations become easier and trust grows.
Over the years I have worked across strategic communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement and public consultation. That has included everything from drafting social media posts and newsletters to supporting public engagement events, advising on messaging and writing speeches.
